The Institute has at its disposal one apartment which is rented to scholars from abroad, usually for a period of no less than a week, and not exceeding three months. Applicants must be working on Icelandic studies at the University of Iceland or some comparable institution during their stay.
Apartment located at Þingholtsstræti 29, 101 Reykjavík, on the upper floor, where the Institute is located. It is an historic wooden house, built in 1899, and a protected building. The apartment is 100 square meters, comprising two bedrooms, a living room, kitchen and bathroom.
The apartments are equipped with all usual furnishings, kitchen utensils and bedding.
