About Gripla

Gripla is a peer-reviewed journal published in December of each year. It has an international audience and is dedicated to publishing research on topics within Icelandic and Old Norse studies, particularly in the fields of manuscript studies, textual criticism, literature and folklore. Articles, editions of short texts and shorter notes-and-queries-style essays (the latter not peer-reviewed) are published. Book reviews are not published, and translations only when they accompany editions of texts. The principal language of the journal is Icelandic but articles in any of the other Scandinavian languages, English, German or French are also accepted.

Gripla is listed in Web of Science™ (Clarivate) and Scopus (Elsevier). All published articles are double-blind peer-reviewed. Authors will be informed of the outcome regarding submitted articles by early June.
