The Codex Regius of the Poetic Edda (GKS 2365 4to), dating from around 1270, has been made available as part of a new series of electronic text editions, Editiones Arnamagnæanæ Electronicæ. The project was headed by Guðvarður Már Gunnlaugsson, Haraldur Bernharðsson, and Vésteinn Ólason under the auspices of the Árni Magnússon Institute for Icelandic Studies in Reykjavík and the Arnamagnæan Institute in Copenhagen. A printed version was published in 2019 as part of the same project.
This digital edition comprises images of every page from the manuscript, diplomatic transcriptions of the text, morphosyntactic analysis of each word and a lemmatized concordance. These features make it an invaluable tool for further research into the manuscript’s poetic texts.
